Map: Bike - Olympic
Bike Course narrative (Olympic). You will exit the transition parking lot, then make a left turn and head north on Powhaton rd (park entrance road) to the Scuba Beach road and make a right. This is a sharp turn, so please watch your speed. Cycle to the end of the scuba beach parking lot (~1.5 miles), turn around in the parking lot at the turn around sign and return to the park entrance road where you will make a right turn and proceed north to Quincy (note: Follow the red arrows for the outbound portion of the race). You will make right turn and head east on Quincy and proceed for ~11 miles to the top of a large hill where there will be police, a volunteer and an aid station with a turn around sign. If you wish a bottle of water, then slow down and they will hand you one. Watch those discarded bottles as they turn into projectiles at anything over 5 mph. You will return to the park entrance road and proceed directly south into the transition area with no return trip to the scuba beach. That is only on the out bound route. This route prevents having to ride on the harsh chip seal at the top of that last hill. This route has ~1250' of elevation gain. Most of that gain will seem to be while you are climbing that last two miles back into the park. note: The arrows are on the map for your information only and will not actually be painted on the road (we want to keep the neighbors happy). This is an open road course, so always ride on the right, pass on the left. Look behind you when passing another cyclist.

Map: Bike - Sprint
Bike Course narrative (Sprint). You will exit the transition parking lot, then make a left turn and head north on Powhaton rd (park entrance road) to Quincy (marked by red arrows on map). Make a right turn at Quincy and head east for 4.5 miles to 100 yards past the Watkins Rd. Turn around at turn around sign (volunteer and police at the turn around). Return to park following blue arrows and a return or your outbound path. This route has ~750' of elevation gain.

Map: Swim - Olympic
Olympic Swim course narrative (two loop swim): Swim starts on beach next to dock. You will swim east following the direction of the yellow arrow keeping the yellow floating rope on your right at all times (the rope aids in navigation and prevents head on accidents from swimmers completing the first loop of the swim). You will make a turn around the farthest buoy (Orange BEMA swim buoys), then return to the starting point now following the blue arrow, exit the water and go around the floating rope for a second trip now following the green arrow. Make a second turn around the farthest buoy only this time you swim towards the RED 9' tall X on the beach which is at the end of the green arrow marking the path. Each leg will be approximately 375 meters with a total swim distance of 1500 meters. Each swimmer will enter the water after being told to start by the timer. There will be an approximate 5 second gap between each swimmer. This is for safety on the swim and bike course. Just a personal note on open water swimming. If you can keep your head down for up to 10 strokes or more, you are more efficient. While turning your head sideways to breath, if the sun or other far away object seems to be turning or moving, it's not. It's you. Time to look up.

Map: Swim - Sprint
Sprint Swim course narrative (Triangle swim): Swim starts on beach next to dock. You will swim east following the direction of the yellow arrow keeping the orange BEMA buoys on your right at all times. At the last of the four buoys, you will make a turn around the farthest buoy then swim towards the RED 9' tall X on the beach which is about 200 yards farther south on the beach from where you started.
